SEASON’S GREETINGS
As the year comes to a close, we extend our warmest season’s greetings to our esteemed partners, collaborators, and stakeholders. Your support and interest in the DRTB-HDT project have been invaluable.
Whether you find yourself enjoying the warmth of the sun or the magic of the snow, we wish you a joyful holiday season. May it bring you moments of peace, reflection, and anticipation for a prosperous New Year. Thank you for your continued interest in our work.
Consortium come together in Gqeberha South Africa
In September, our journey brought us together in Gqeberha for a highly successful Consortium Meeting. We had the pleasure to visit the WITS clinical site and learn from each other through presentations and discussion.
The collaborative spirit and dedication displayed during this event set a positive tone for the project’s future. We extend our gratitude to each member for their valuable contributions.
Milestone: First Patient Recruited at INS Clinical Site
A major milestone has been achieved with the recruitment of the first patient at the INS clinical site. This achievement marks the active enrollment of patients at all originally foreseen sites, underlining the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts and brings us closer to our goals.
Expansion of Clinical Sites in South Africa
Looking ahead to the coming year, we’re excited to announce the expansion of our project with the inclusion of two new clinical sites in South Africa—Durban and Sizwe, both under the leadership of WITS/CHRU. This expansion enhances our ability to reach our goal of 330 patients in the study.
Two-Year No-Cost Extension
We have been granted a two-year no-cost extension by the European Commission. This extension not only recognizes our achievements but also provides additional time to further our research. It’s a testament to the confidence in our team’s capabilities and the potential impact of our work.
Consortium members are encouraged to share articles, activities and events with the Secretariat to be featured in this monthly update newsletter.
